Students and alumni from the VIEM (Video/Image in Motion, led by Pia Maria Martin) and Klub16 (a visual research and experimentation group focusing on the moving image, led by Pia Maria Martin and Jean-Baptiste Ganne) programs have completed several projects on the theme of the garden in Stuttgart.
An exhibition
From January 8 to March1, 2025, 16 videos by students or former students of the Villa Arson VIEM class were exhibited at the Stuttgart Library.

The exhibition explores the theme of the garden, from classical concepts to more experimental interpretations. The videos present different facets of the garden: from Secret Gardens, serving as personal refuges, to innovative representations where movement and image merge into a new experience.
Thanks to animation and experimental techniques, new perspectives are emerging, making the garden not just a physical landscape, but also a metaphor for ideas, secrets and creative spaces.

a study trip
A study trip to Stuttgart was organized by Pia Maria Martin and Jean-Baptiste Ganne from January 15 to 20, 2025 thanks to the Erasmus + program.
A performance
During this study trip, Villa Arson students put on a performance at the Fitz Theater(16mm, Super8, video, installation and sound)as part of Filmwinter, Stuttgart’s Expanded Cinema Festival.

Performance
“A porous space where films and audiences meet. There’s no stage, no backstage; film changes, projector set-ups, photographic shoots and sound performances are spontaneous and unveiled. The process and its mechanisms are highlighted. The moving image, whether digital or analog, dialogues with installation, volume, drawing, music and scenography. There are no boundaries between disciplines. The materiality and spatiality of the image are thus highlighted. This is an experimental and expanded show. Margot Genevelle
