Degrees<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Villa Arson\u2019s study programs last three or five years. The first degree we offer, the Dipl\u00f4me National d\u2019Art (DNA \u2014 equivalent to a bachelor\u2019s degree) is awarded after three years of study. The second degree, the Dipl\u00f4me National Sup\u00e9rieur d\u2019Expression Plastiques (DNSEP \u2014 equivalent to a master\u2019s degree) is awarded after two supplementary years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both degrees are part of the unique arts pathway provided by the school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dipl\u00f4me National d\u2019Art (DNA)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It completes the first cycle, i.e., the first three years of the program, and is equivalent to a bachelor\u2019s degree (bac +3). It attests to the student\u2019s rigour and commitment to the artistic curriculum, and measures their capacity to undertake personal, well-argued work. To be eligible to sit the exams for the DNA, students must have obtained the required number of credits: 165. The degree jury, appointed by the director of the school, is made up of three members, including two qualified figures from outside the establishment, and one teacher from the school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dipl\u00f4me National Sup\u00e9rieur d\u2019Expression Plastique (DNSEP)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This degree ends the second cycle and requires two further years of study after obtaining the DNA. The diploma is equivalent to a master\u2019s degree (bac +5). It attests to the student\u2019s capacity to demonstrate an individual and experimental artistic practice, to develop original and conceptual work, and to successfully implement research projects. It is also based on the production of a thesis drawing on the student\u2019s research, and putting into play their theoretical and historical knowledge, their imagination, and the critical acumen they have acquired over the course of their studies. Whatever form the writing assumes, it must confirm the student\u2019s ability to think independently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To sit the exams for the DNSEP \u2014 the presentation of a thesis and of creative work \u2014 students must have obtained the required number of credits: 270. The degree jury, appointed by the director of the school, is made up of five members, including one representative selected from the school\u2019s teaching staff, and four qualified figures from outside the establishment. One of these figures, holder of a doctorate, is responsible for assessing the thesis alongside the school representative.<\/p>\n\n\n
