Villa Arson is hosting artist Aniela Piasecka in residence from January 19 to March 15, 2026, as part of the Magnetic 4 program developed by Fluxus Art Projects.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aniela Piasecka <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Aniela Piasecka is an artist based in Glasgow, UK. Working with performance and multidisciplinary modes of choreography, they have recently been developing research around the somatic experiencing and choreography of pain, the role of risk in performance and biopsychosocial research into the \u2018functions\u2019 of the body. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Past works have been presented with Bergen Kunsthall, Norway; CAPC, Bordeaux; The Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin; Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art and Dansehallerne, Copenhagen; Cubitt Gallery, London.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The residency<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

An exploratory period of research into the viscera as the centre of our psycho-emotional lives and physical experiences, both pleasurable and painful, to engage participants and anticipated audiences with their own corporeality. Driving the work is an exploration of experiences of desire, need, attraction and disgust and their physical manifestations in the body. Drawing on a series of performance, filmic and textual references I will consider attempts towards permanency of artistic endeavours alongside the fragility and finality of the corporeal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Magnetic Program<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Created in 2022 under the auspices of Fluxus Art Projects, Magnetic 4 benefits from the support of the Institut fran\u00e7ais du Royaume-Uni, the Institut fran\u00e7ais, the French Ministry of Culture, the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Arts Council England, Creative Scotland, Arts Council of Wales\/Wales Arts International, Arts Council of Northern Ireland, the British Council, as well as its valued patrons and friends.<\/p>\n\n\n
